Well done to HomeLife Carers for receiving a Gold and Silver award at the OUSTANDING CARE AWARDS DEVON AND CORNWALL 2018. HomeLife Carers were only 1 of 2 care companies from North Devon nominated for the awards, and the only provider to reach the finals from North Devon. Kathy Southouse received the Gold award for Care Assessor of the Year and Alice Billows a Silver award for Care Coordinator of the Year. ‘This is an amazing achievement for the whole team and a huge congratulations to Kathy and Alice. I was very proud to be at the awards supporting HomeLife and great that all the teams’ efforts have been put on the map!’ said Sharon McNulty, Operations Director at HomeLife Carers. ‘There was a good number of companies from both Torquay and Cornwall and this is a huge achievement for us to win for Devon. After a very hard 12 months I cannot tell you what a lift these awards have given us all and for such a great team to be identified. With great achievements being made across the board in the last few months, ongoing improvements and extra support to our office staff, I am sure this is the start of many more achievements to come for 2018.’

Well done to everyone at HomeLife Carers, and especially to Kathy and Alice for the fantastic awards, absolutely deserved!

Homelife Carers received a certificate for referring 100 of our clients for a home safety visit helping keep the people in our communities safer.

HomeLife Carers have recently celebrated their first ever Carers Awards, recognising all those who have been champions in the eyes of their colleagues and clients. Held in Exeter, the event was spread over two weekends ensuring that sufficient cover was provided for clients in the community whilst allowing all staff to attend at least one of the evenings. A total of 220 people attended, celebrating the achievements of the team split into five categories; the Carers Carer, the Clients Carer, Dedication to Service Award, Best Newcomer and the Managers Award (this award was given to the individual who despite a difficult year, had not allowed events to impact their work, remaining committed to their role and clients).

‘Whilst the events were held as an award ceremony, the evenings themselves were much more than this; this was a real opportunity for us, as an organisation, to say a massive thank you to all the care team for their dedication, support and loyalty they show their clients.  All too often we hear in the news negative stories about the care industry, but not all stories need be negative and in fact, there are so many positive and incredible things which carers all do as a matter of their daily routines with clients.  These events were our opportunity to recognise and celebrate those brilliant traits the care team all have.’ said John Griffiths, Managing Director. ‘It really has been a wonderful experience for all involved and a fantastic way to celebrate the incredible work all the team do.’
